A tribute to a true friend and brother… we will miss you Joe!!!

Joe Burns and Friends

Joe was servant, a good friend, and Christian Brother…

and we miss you!!!

(The center photo of Joe was one of the last photos that was taken of Joe by yours truly, at Denny’s Restaurant, sometime in the wee hours of Sunday morning, following one recent Saturday evening service)

Joe was the head usher at El Saddai and was one of the most giving people I think I have ever known; and I would even go as far as to say there should be a picture of him in the dictionary next to the word servant.

In fact Pastor Charles would always say of Joe that it always took at least five ushers to replace him every time he was away.

Joe’s graduation to heaven took place this past Sunday (April 10th), and it came as a complete shock to all of us who knew him and loved him.

He truly will be sorely missed by all his friends and church family!

Joe is survived by his lovely wife, Lucille, their four daughters, three son-in-laws, and four grandchildren.

A memorial service, to celebrate Joe’s life, will be held at El Shaddai this next Saturday (April 16th) at 11 AM.

  1. i realy shock when i heard that.i loved joe .he is with lord now but i miss him .i am far away now but my heart is with you church.soon and late we all going to be with joe .i will see you joe ,my dear friend

  2. Thanks for keeping me informed, I did not know that. When someone close to me leaves earth it reminds me that we are just passing through. We are a breath and vapor. Joe and his wife watched my son for me when I worked 12 hour shifts 2007-2008. My son looked forward to spending time with them, and from he said he enjoyed doing many things with Joe and they took him everywhere they went. He is asleep now but when he wakes up I will be sure to tell him, he too will be surprised and sad. May God comfort and strenghten Joe’s family in their time of grief. Joe is missed but not lost. One day we will find him where he is.
