The Following URGENT PRAYER ALERT came through earlier today:

Urgent Alert: Deportation Hearing Happening Now for Mosab Yousef—Who Left Hamas and became a Christian and Sought Asylum in the US

Aimee Herd (June 30, 2010)

Deportation to Palestine is a death sentence for this young Christian man, who was a valuable advocate for Israel.

BCN wanted to alert our readers of this hearing, happening now in California. Mosab Yousef, who wrote the book Son of Hamas, is trying not to be sent back to the Palestinians where his life would be in grave danger.

After leaving Hamas when he became a Christian Believer, he spent time helping Israel fight against the terrorist organization his own father co-founded. Now, the current administration in Washington sees Yousef as a “threat” and is acting to deport him; that hearing going on today.

As you read the information from Mosab’s website below, please be praying for God’s favor and protection on this very brave individual who is a defender of the faith, and a defender of Israel.

From Mosab Yousef’s website:

Mosab lives in San Diego, California and is seeking asylum in the United States. He is a Palestinian man who was an agent for Israel’s Mossad for about seven years, after spending ten years in an Israeli prison. Mosab’s father is a co-founder of Hamas in Palestine, which is designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano believes Mosab Yousef is a national security threat, and wants to send him back to Palestine. According to Yousef, writing on his publisher’s blog, he is now Homeland Security File# A 088 271 051. He is scheduled to appear before Immigration Judge Rico J. Bartolomei at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Court in San Diego today, June 30th, 2010.

Time is of the essence if we want to make a difference for Mosab.

Mosab met a tourist in Israel, was given a Bible, studied both the Bible and the Koran side-by-side, and eventually became a Christian. He is the author of the book Son of Hamas, and is often known as “Son of Hamas.”
Yousef has been out of the service of Israel’s intelligence agency, Shin Bet, also known as Israel Security Agency (ISA), for about four years. His Shin Bet “handler” vouches for the work he did to protect Israel.

According to “The Handler,” known as “Captain Loai” and “G:”

For almost seven years, the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef – one of the founders of Hamas and one of the Islamist organization’s leaders in the West Bank—supplied G. with accurate information on developments involving the top brass of Hamas, plans for suicide-bomber attacks and the whereabouts of wanted individuals. Together, G. and Yousef prevented dozens of terrorist attacks and thwarted plans to assassinate leading Israeli figures, such as President Shimon Peres and Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.

Yousef’s code name in Israeli Intelligence was The Green Prince. When he arrived in America, he went to Homeland Security, identified himself and asked for political asylum. Over a period of months, Mosab documented his story with Homeland Security. The result is the deportation hearing on June 30, 2010.

According to AP reports, an immigration judge today ruled that Mr. Yousef is eligible for asylum if he passes a routine background check. Though the government attorney Kerri Calcador gave no explanation for the government’s change of heart, I believe it was in answer to everyone’s prayers!

Brian P. Hale, a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said, “During a hearing this morning, DHS attorneys recommended to the court that Mr. Yousef be granted the requested relief.”

Mr. Yousef is tied to Hamas through his relationship with his father, Sheik Hassan Yousef, one of the founders of the organization. The elder Yousef is now in an Israeli prison and has denounced his son for his conversion to Christianity and his admission that he spied for Israel’s domestic intelligence service, the Shin Bet.

Round one is over, and let’s pray that this decision stands, and that there are no further problems.

Thank God… so far so good!

Let’s just keep praying for this brother, not only for his citizenship; but also for his safety.

U.S. grants asylum to born-again ‘Son of Hamas’
Homeland Security wanted to deport ex-Muslim who spied for Israel

By Art Moore

An immigration judge in San Diego ruled today the son of a Hamas founder who converted to Christianity and spied for Israel will be granted political asylum after the Department of Homeland Security dropped its objections.

As WND reported, Mosab Hassan Yousef had been denied his February 2009 request for asylum because the DHS interpreted his work as a counterterror agent with Israel’s Shin Bet security agency as engagement in terrorist activity, making him a threat to U.S. security.

Judge Rico Bartolomei ruled Yousef will be granted political asylum Aug. 26 after he is fingerprinted and passes a routine background check. Yousef says he wants to become a U.S. citizen.

From the world of radical Islam to the world of the radically transformed. Order your copy of “Son of Hamas” from the WND Superstore now!

Yousef told WND and other reporters in a conference call after the hearing that he was surprised when DHS lawyers informed the judge there were “developments” in the case and they were removing their objections to his application for asylum.

“I think the judge was surprised, and everybody there was surprised,” Yousef said.

The government lawyers, however, offered no explanation for their change of mind. But Yousef acknowledged the support of members of Congress, the Israeli Knesset, Christian and Jewish groups, and individuals who contacted DHS officials on his behalf.

Yousef, who publicized the deportation threat in a blog post last month, said the U.S. government’s belief he posed a security threat as a terrorist was based on a complete misinterpretation of passages of his best-selling book, “Son of Hamas”.

He told reporters today’s decision, for him, was “a small but very important step in a long journey.”

“The biggest victory will be when we start to see the new generation of the Middle East changing,” he said. “When we start to see our world a safer place. When we’ll be able to change the ideology that supports fanatics, fundamentalists and terrorists.”

Earlier this week, nearly two dozen Congress members appealed to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano in a letter, arguing Yousef would be in “grave danger” if he were sent back to the Middle East.

Former CIA Director James Woolsey wrote in a letter released by Yousef’s attorney that deporting Yousef would deter others from serving as spies.

“It is not an exaggeration to say that such an action would set us back years in the war on terrorism,” Woolsey wrote. “Mosab’s deportation would be such an inhumane act it would constitute a blight on American history.”

As WND reported, Yousef worked alongside his father, Sheik Hassan Yousef, in the West Bank city of al-Ghaniya near Ramallah while secretly embracing Christian faith and serving with Shin Bet. Yousef was recruited by the agency in 1996 at the age of 18 while at an Israeli detention facility.

Since publicly declaring his faith in August 2008, he has been condemned by an al-Qaida-affiliated group and disowned by his family.

Yousef has explained his job as a Shin Bet agent required him to pose as a terrorist and participate in “terrorist meetings” with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, his father and other Hamas leaders.

“I passed on to the Shin Bet all the information I gathered during those meetings and saved the lives of many people – including many Americans,” he explained in his May blog post.

Yousef said at the time that the FBI told Homeland Security he was not a threat and advised the agency to drop the case.

“But Homeland Security shut its eyes and stopped up its ears and told the FBI, ‘You have nothing to do with this. It is our job,'” Yousef said.

The agency’s performance, he asserted in his Internet posting last month, “should worry the American people.”

“If Homeland Security cannot understand a simple story like mine, how can they be trusted with bigger issues?” he asked. “They seem to know only how to blindly follow rules and procedures. But to work intelligence, you have to be very creative. You have to accept exceptions. You need to be able to think beyond facts and circumstances.”

Today, Yousef said in a statement that his “faith in America is restored.”

“I am very grateful to the Department of Homeland Security for carefully reviewing my case and choosing to withdraw it’s opposition to granting me asylum,” he said.

Asked by a reporter whether the upcoming Independence Day holiday will be significant for him now that he has a pathway to citizenship, Yousef replied, “I became American when I started to fight for liberty and freedom.

“At that moment, I shared the common ground that gathers every free man and woman in this country,” he said. “I celebrated always the Fourth of July. I think independence is a great thing, but what I think is greater is the liberty that is in the heart of every individual in this country. I think this is a great country; it’s a great nation, and I will be proud to be called American.”

Meet Gerard Le Feuvre

The man and his music

From Haven Today: Gerard Le Feuvre

Gerard Le Feuvre was born to become a Lord, as his father before him had been on the Channel Island of Jersey. As one of the privileged few, he had no desire to know his heavenly Father until one day, walking in a forest in Finland, he heard a voice speak to him and say, “Come to me.”

Without a doubt he knew . . . it was Jesus.

Already a world-class cellist, Gerard Le Feuvre found that his music had suddenly changed. Instead of technical brilliance, his music now moved listeners to tears . . . and he only had one explanation – now he was playing for his Lord, THE Lord of Lords. Soon after, he founded The Kings Chamber Orchestra in London which today plays for the glory of God.

Listen to the Haven Today Program, an interview with Gerard and more of his music:

This is some amazing footage that I thought you would enjoy…

Lightning strikes three of the tallest buildings in Chicago at the same time!

“Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth.”

(Job 37:2-2)

It was one of those magical moments

Chicago’s Craig Shimala caught it from his west side balcony – three bolts of lightning striking the John Hancock Center, Willis Tower, and Trump International Hotel and Tower instantaneously. Here’s his description…

For the third time in the last 6 days, another line of nasty storms rolled through Chicago on Wednesday evening. I love coming home and being able to watch and capture nature’s beauty from my balcony. The footage was shot on a Canon 7D.

I love the lightening and the thunderstorms that they have back east. Living out here in the west, we don’t get so much of that, especially here in Southern California, where I live… and I kind of miss it.

For me, seeing these pictures bring back all sorts of wonderful nostalgic memories; because as a boy, I spent a lot of time in the Windy City of Chicago!

Even though I was raised in Detroit Michigan, my place of birth was in Chicago, and both of my parents were also from Chicago; and so at least at one time, most of my family was there as well, with cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and my grandparents.

In fact, my grandfather on my mother’s side, worked on the New York Central Railroad, as a steward in the diner car; and so consequently I have many memories as a boy of spending lots of time on the train, traveling back and forth, as well as all the memories of my many summer vacations and holidays that I spent there!

Chicago for me will always have a special place in my heart!

Not that you asked, but I thought I’d tell you anyway!

Have a blessed day,

Skip Barland

O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will!

What Jesus purchased for us at Calvary’s cross though it comes to us free of charge, it did not come without a cost; it’s just that we could never pay the price!

It cost the life of God’s only begotten Son; and it cost Jesus His All!

How do you not love a God like that?

Micah 7:18 (The Message)

18-20Where is the god who can compare with you—
wiping the slate clean of guilt,
Turning a blind eye, a deaf ear,
to the past sins of your purged and precious people?
You don’t nurse your anger and don’t stay angry long,
for mercy is your specialty. That’s what you love most.
And compassion is on its way to us.
You’ll stamp out our wrongdoing.
You’ll sink our sins
to the bottom of the ocean.
You’ll stay true to your word to Father Jacob
and continue the compassion you showed Grandfather Abraham—
Everything you promised our ancestors
from a long time ago.

So how do you not love a God like this?

The Bible gives us the record, in the Gospel of John – Chapter one (in the Skip paraphrase version) that: “In the beginning, before time and space began (was created and set in forth in motion by God), that there was the Logos (the Living Word), and the Word was God.

It goes on to say that, “He was in the beginning with God. That all things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

In Him (Jesus) was life, and the life was the light of men; and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not comprehend it.

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and yet the world did not know Him, nor did it recognize Him.

And though He came unto His own people (the Jews), even His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to as many as believed on His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

So then the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth!”

This is the way I understand the way the Trinity works: It is God the Father who originates ALL the thoughts, purposes, and plans of the God Head, He’s the BOSS; then God the Father speaks those thoughts plans and purposes with the Word of His mouth; and God the Son (Jesus) is that Word (the Living Word), who then goes out to implement the thoughts, plans and purposes of the Father; and then it is God the Holy Spirit, who is the POWER source, who brings it all together, and makes it happen!

Such as it is, this is the account given in Scripture for where we ALL came from; and as we read further the story even gets more interesting; for the Bible says that even the angels of heaven bend over in amazement and wonderment at what God is doing with the Sons and Daughters of Adam, which to them is a great mystery?

Not only that, but the Bible also tells us (in Romans 8:19): “That the whole of creation awaits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed!

When we stop to consider all the trouble and bother that God has had to go through; and the enormous cost of our salvation to the God Head; and all the pain and suffering that Christ had to go through, the question naturally arises… why would God go through all of that?

Well the answer is because God loves you; for even as it says in John – Chapter 3, verse 16:For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life!

Truly, when you understand it, the Bible is actually God’s love letter to us, where we are told all that He has had to do in order to have his lost children reconciled back unto His eternal family; not only that, but the Bible is also God’s road map, left behind for us, in order to show us the way home.

So then I ask the question again: How do we not love a God like this?

And what should be our response to such love?

Well the Bible says,Let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah Jesus, who being in the form of God, and being God incarnate Himself, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God; but He made Himself of no reputation, taking on the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of man.

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him (Jesus) and has given Him the name which is above EVERY name, that at the name of JESUS every knee must bow, of those in heaven, and of those in the earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!(Phil 2:5-11) Amen

I believe it was St. Augustine who said it the best, when he said for us: To love God with all your heart, all your mind, and all your strength, and do as you please!

Christianity is not a religion, as many would call it, and many practice it!

To say that and to leave it there is a cop out, because Christianity is so much more.

Jesus did not come to this earth and suffer all that He suffered just so we could practice religion!

Religion attempts to earn God’s acceptance and approval through human effort and by our works; but the Bible says that Salvation only comes by Grace, as a free gift!

No, religion most often tends to cheapen all that God has done, by making some believe they can earn it; but the truth is nothing we can do will ever add to, or take away from what Christ has already done for us on the Cross!

So as you are collating all of this, and possibly asking yourself what side do I fall on, when it comes to this Man, Christ Jesus… please consider this last point that I will leave you with… and that is, though this gift of salvation comes to us free of charge, by GRACE, meaning we don’t deserve it; and even thought it comes totally by way of unmerited favor; nevertheless, there is however a cost involved for us; and therein lies a paradox, because we can only lay hold of this New Life, by dying to self, and our living for God!

Going to church and having a label doesn’t get anyone into heaven! Selah

For more information about how all of this works, and how to appropriate this awesome gift of salvation, and this New Life for yourself, here is a website that might be helpful, and will answer some of you questions:… beyond that, consult the Operations Manual (Book of Information Before Leaving Earth—the BIBLE).

Restoring Our Constitutional Republic… The Government vs. the People!

One Nation Under God

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Restoring Our Constitutional Republic

The Government vs. the People!

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero 42B.C

Spiritually our nation is at a very definite crossroads, regarding our forefather’s covenant with God, and we have been here for several years… but only in recent years has it come to a head.

We are not unlike the state that the Nation of Israel found itself in numerous times in their long history; where because of their obstinate disobedience they were often facing the correcting Hand of God… for as the Bible says, “God chastens them whom He loves.”

Morally, ethically, and also historically, our nation is facing the worst crisis to its existence since our Independence from Great Britain; as our nation’s leaders long ago have lost their moral compass, and have long since forgotten the God of Heaven; and have long ago disregarded both His laws and His Word, the Holy Bible.

Surely in their effort to gain respectability, they will make reference to Him often and are very religious; but that’s only when it suites their purpose, and that’s mostly when they are running for office.

Case in point, we have a man sitting in the White House today, Barack Hussein Obama, who claims himself to be a Christian; but also says for him to make a moral judgment as to whether it is right or wrong to murder over 50 million babies is above his pay grade; who also says that marriage between people of the same sex is okay, and should be made legal; who also says that homosexuality is a normal and natural lifestyle and should be incorporated at all levels of our society; who also says that Muslims and atheists, as long as they are good and moral people will make it into heaven; and who also has been recorded mocking the Bible and also the Sermon on the Mound.

Not to mention all the controversy that has surrounded this man, since the beginning of his political career; and his relationships with socialists, avowed Communists, and anti-American groups who are actively seeking the permanent overthrow and end to our Constitutional Republic… and yet despite all of this, the American people have championed this man, and they voted him into office!

Now I ask you, what is wrong with this picture?

I don’t know what’s worse; the fact that we have enemies of the state at the very helm of our government; or the fact that the general public has drifted so far afield, away from the God of the Bible, themselves, that they cannot today discern anymore the difference between good and evil; or right and wrong?

How far we have fallen from whence we started as a nation, based on our long history and legacy as a nation who once honored and cherished the God of the Bible, and were blessed beyond any nation in history because of that fact!

The United States has become the melting pot of the world, as people have sought to come here from all over, in order that they might bathe in the light of our freedom and prosper under our liberty; and these people have been free to bring their gods, to worship as they please, and follow their religious practices, something quite often they could not do in the country they came from; and yet still they will not Honor the God of our forefathers, of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who is the One responsible for the very blessings they came here to seek.

Sure they want our liberty, and they want to enjoy the prosperity and blessings that have been afforded to all American people, because of our forefather’s covenant with God, but they do not want our God; and yet to make matters even worse, to add insult to injury, it is obvious that most of our citizens today are now in that very same camp, because our present day leadership in Washington DC is only a reflection of the moral condition of the people who elected them to office.

Let us pray for our nations; let us pray that the efforts to restore our Constitutional Republic succeed; and that God will either change the the hearts of our present leadership in Washington DC, or that He removed them from office; pray for a Spiritual Awakening and for Revival in our land; and pray the hearts of the people of our land, to be turned back to God; that we may truly once again be One Nation Under God… So let it be Lord, in Jesus name!

America’s Godly Heritage

David Barton

Revised & Condensed by Annette Nay

The Founding Fathers and Christianity

Our founding fathers were brought up in schools in which their primers taught bible scriptures, morals and its teachings. They were taught the Ten Commandments and were thoroughly versed on each one and their meaning.

As adults, the founding fathers continued to read and learn from the bible. Many of them were evangelical preachers. Many of them started the American Tract Society and wrote many of their tracts. They started the American Bible Society, The Philadelphia Bible Society, and the Christian Constitutional Society, all of which still exist today. It was no wonder then that they used the bible to frame the Constitution.

Patrick Henry – “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ!”

From 1690 to 1900 American’s youth learned their ABC’s with a bible scripture associated with each letter. First graders talked about the Ten Commandments, in class, and learned what they meant.

The founding fathers wanted government and Christianity to be in an insoluble bond.

John Quincy Adams stated, “The highest glory of the American Revolution was this… it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.”

John Jay the Chief Justice and the most influential writer of the constitution stated, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers. ” We need to elect Christians to office if we want to have righteous men making good laws to rule our country.

In summation from George Washington’s farewell speech, speaking to the citizens of The United States, he touched on these points: Do not let anyone claim to be a true American if they attempt to remove religion from American politics. If they do they are not true Americans.

Our American government has lasted over 200 years. Having a government, in any form, lasting this long is unheard of. For example, in the last 200 years France has had seven forms of government and Italy has had forty-eight.

Our Constitution and Its Basis

Where did the founding fathers get their ideas for our constitution that has caused it to last so long? Some would have you believe that it was because of the Age of Enlightenment in Britain which brought to light ideas such as:

  • Government should be formed to protect people’s natural rights.
  • Government should have limited power.
  • The type of government should be accepted by all citizens.
  • Government has an obligation to those it governs.
  • Man is born free.
  • Controls by a freely formed government are good.
  • When government is by the consent of the governed the people, they retain their rights.
  • People have the right to challenged old ways of thinking.
  • They questioned divine-right of rule.

They taught that people should be able to gain material well-being, social justice, and happiness in this life – not just the next (Ellis, Esler, Beers, & Hart, 1999).

These ideas spread to American and found place in Thomas Paine’s pamphlet called Common Sense. Some would have you think that it was Paine’s pamphlet which swayed the founding father’s minds to their incorporation in the Constitution (Ellis, Esler, Beers, & Hart, 1999). The fact is that there were many heated debates on the constitutional legislature’s floor over these ideas. Such ideas were not espoused by the founding fathers until they could find a precedence in the bible for them. Then, it was only by unanimously consent spurred on by spiritual confirmation, that they accept these ideas into the constitution (Barton, 1999).

The Bible was important to our founding fathers. Out of fifteen thousand samples of their writings that University of Houston professors collected, they found 3154 of those had a significant impact on our constitution. Of those writings, they found that the bible was quoted sixteen times more than any other source. 94% of the quotes were based on the bible, 34% came directly out of the bible, and 60% used the bible to arrive at their conclusion.

The House and the Senate would discuss what the bible said and use its ideas to make law. The idea of three branches of government originated with John Locke in his article called Two Treaties of Government. The founding fathers substantiated the idea for separation of powers from Jeremiah 17:32. They found mention of the three branches of government in Isaiah 33:22. They found the idea of tax exemption for churches in Ezra 7:24. These men were students of the Bible and brought their expertise into the legislature to help them to know that to do.

Court Rulings that lead to Religion Leaving Government

The Way It Used to Be

1892 – Trinity vs. the US: The Supreme Court stated, “Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It’s impossible that it should be otherwise; and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian.”  This case gave 87 historical precedences to prove this statement. It further stated that there were more, but 78 should suffice to prove the government must be based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

1844 – Vidal vs. Girard’s: “The purest principles of morality are to be taught. Where are they found? Whosoever searches for them must go to the source for which the Christian man derives his faith… the bible.”  A Philadelphia school’s premise was that they could teach morality with out teaching the bible. The court ruled that they couldn’t have a school that didn’t teach the bible’s morality, as it was the source of morality.

1811 – People vs. Ruggles: “Whatever strikes at the root of Christianity tends manifestly to the dissolution of civil government.” In this case a man became profane about Jesus Christ and the bible both written and spoken. The courts said it was blasphemy and the man was fined $500.00 and jailed for 3 months. The court said if you’ve attacked Jesus Christ you have attacked Christianity. If you attack Christianity, you have attacked the foundation of the US. Therefore, it is an attack on the US.

How Amoral Laws Came to Being

The founding fathers never wanted separation of church and state, yet 67% of US citizens today believe that that very idea is contained in the constitution, even though those words never appear in the constitution.

The Constitution of the United States’ first amendment says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Pre-drafts of this statement clarifies the founding fathers constitutional statement. There were twelve variations, they all mirrored the sentiments found in this one, “Congress will pass no laws making one denomination of Christians higher than another denomination.”

Their intent was that they did not want in America what they had in Great Britain where one denomination was running the nation. They wanted God’s principles, but did not want one designated church running the nation.

1796 – Funckle vs Winemiller – The Danbury Baptists who wanted a state church designated. The courts stated: “In our form of government the Christian religion is the established religion and all sects and denominations of Christians are placed upon the same equal footing.”

1802 – Thomas Jefferson addressed those Danbury Baptist. He said that the first amendment has erected a wall between church and state, but that wall is a one directional wall. It keeps the government from running the church and Christian principles will always stay in government. The First National Church never happened and Jefferson’s writing was put away until 1853. Today, we only hear half of this statement, that is: the separation of church and state.

A small number of people petitioned to separate Christian principles from government. Studies were done to see if it could be done. The findings of the House Judiciary committee were announced March 27, 1854. They said that if the people, during the Revolution, or had they any suspicion of any attempt to war against Christianity that revolution would have been strangled in its cradle. At the time of the adoption of the Constitution and the amendments the universal sentiment was that Christianity should be encouraged, not any one sect.

The Founders of the Constitution were Christians and they expected it would be so for their descendents. They stated, “The great vital and conservative element in our system is the belief of our people in the pure doctrine and divine truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

1947 – Everson vs. the Board of Education – Only nineteen words of Jefferson’s speech were used, those being, “The First Amendment has erected a wall between church and state.” That wall must be kept high and impregnable.” It was because these words were taken out of context that the Founding father’s intent was reversed. Jefferson meant, not state from church, but church from state.

Dr. William James –the Father of Modern Psychology influenced the court. He wanted church out of state. Dr. James stated, “There is nothing so absurd but if you repeat it often enough, people will believe it.” The courts began used this tactic through the years.

1958 – Bear vs. Colmore – One of the judges got tired of hearing the statement, “separation of church and state.” He said, “If this court doesn’t stop talking about separation of church and state, someone will think it is part of the constitution.” The court continued to talk about it.

June 25, 1962 – Engle vs. Vitale – This was the first time there was a separation of religious principles from public education. The courts rules that there should not be prayers in school. It was the first time we had a separation of church and state. It was the first time that NO precedence (where previous legal cases were cited) or historical incidents were quoted.

1962-65 – The courts removed church from state through rulings on these cases:

1- Engle vs. Vital – Removal of prayer from school. The prayer before the court only mentioned God once. The Constitution mentions God four times. Does this make it unconstitutional?

2- Murray vs. Curlett – Removal of bible reading in school. Bible study used to be required to graduate from High School.

3- June 17, 1965 –Abington vs. Schempp – Removal of religious instruction from school. The courts stated, “If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, they could be, and have been psychologically harmful to the child.”

In this case the courts said that only 3% of the nation professed no belief in religion or God. That prayer was consistent with 97% of the nation, but the courts ruled for the minority. Now, the philosophy of the 3% rules the 97%.

Our courts used to use biblical guidelines to rule on the areas of the citizens, families, schools, and the nation. Not anymore! Before 1962, the courts said, “We only allow divorce for six reasons. They are the six reasons God allows as written in the bible. God made the family (Adam’s and Noah’s) and so we have to use God’s precepts/rules to govern the family.” After 1965 the courts said we were not to do so any more, because it causes psychological damage to children. George Washington stated, “Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religions principle.”

1965 – Reid vs. Vanhovan – It is unconstitutional for a student to pray aloud in school.

1967 – Decab vs. Dispain – The courts took a four-line nursery rhyme used in pre-kindergarten and ruled it unconstitutional. The courts said, “The rhyme is unconstitutional since it might cause someone to think of God.”

1980 – Stone vs. Graham – The Ten Commandments were posted in a school’s hall bulletin board. The court ruled: “If the posted copies of the Ten commandments are to have any effect at all it will be induce the school children to read, meditate upon them, and perhaps to venerate and obey the commandment; this is not a permissible objective.”

When the courts say something is unconstitutional, what they are saying is that this thing is something our founding fathers would have been opposed to and would not have allowed it! The court’s findings do not reflect this.

James Madison, the Chief Architect of the Constitution, said, “We have stated the whole future of American civilization not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”

Our Country’s Downfall

Since 1963, when prayer was taken out of school, unwed birth rates of 15-19 year-olds doubled. Pregnancies for girls 10-14 went up 553% since prayer was disallowed in school. (The separation of church and state.)

Divorce rates from 1963 to 1983 were up 117%. For fifteen years prior 1963, divorce had been declining.

Since 1963, single families were up 140%, single families with children with children were up 160%, and unmarried couples living together went up 353%.

From 1965, there was a sharp incline of gonorrhea in students in ages 15-19. It incline became since the removal of religious principles from school. Student STD’s went up 228%.

When a people throw away their values, they reap the consequences Some of those consequences are crime, divorce, STD’s, unwed mothers, and unmarried couples living together. There are more!

SAT scores approximate average was 970 points from 1952 to 1963. From 1963 to 1980 scores declined for eighteen consecutive years to drop to a low average of 890 points in 1980.

In 1974-75 the sharp decline in SAT scores slowed with the advent of private religious schools, which allowed religion in the curriculum. During this time, there were 32 thousand U.S. schools, which accounted for 8.5 million students.

Some say that the better scores of these students were because private schools had more money available for a better education for these students. This statement was investigated. It was found that private schools had, on average, $110.00 per student, whereas public schools had $370.52 per student.

SAT scores showed that students from the Christian private schools, on average, got 100 points higher, than the Non-Christian schooled students. That put the Christian schooled students back on the par where students were prior to 1963 and the separation of church and state. It was as if no change had occurred. Whereas public schooled student scores continued to declined!

In 1988 – the number of Academic High Achievers were as follows :

60.8 were from public schools

39.2 were from private schools – This group was 3 times larger than those from the public schools. Remember too, that private religious schools had 1/3 less money per person and used the same curriculum as the public schools, except the private schools added religion.

Violent crimes went up 544% since religious principles were removed from schools in 1963. Thomas Jefferson said that religion is the friend to government because it teaches morals of the heart. This means we are not dealing with murder, instead we deal with the religious morals which say do not hate. When we eliminate hate there is no murder. The commandment to not lust, stops adultery or rape.

Our Citizen’s need Internal Values

John Adams stated that there was no government big enough, to make you do what’s right. If you don’t do what’s right out of your heart, the gun has already been fired; the damage has already been done. He further stated, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is whole inadequate to the government of any other.”

Our people need internal constraints governed by God to keep our constitution working well. The greater number of our people are not and as a result, the constitution is not working!

Our country is now number one in:

  • Violent crime
  • Teen pregnancy
  • Illegal drug use
  • Divorce
  • Abortion
  • Illiteracy (in all the industrial world) – In 1997, seven hundred thousand students graduated from high school, who couldn’t read their diplomas.

Jeremiah 6:16 says to go back to the old paths if you want things to be back the way it should be. Many state constitutions require people, who hold office, to believe in God, the scriptures, and understand them.

Nations are accountable to God. The founding fathers said, “As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be punished in this. By an inevitable chain of cause and effect, providence punishes national sins by national calamities.” When a nation leaves God, God deals with them immediately. Hence, moral decay brings violent crimes, teen pregnancies, divorce, abortions, and etc. When wicked men rule, the nation suffers.

Ben Franklin and the Constitutional Convention stated, “We need God to be our friend not our enemy. We need Him to be our allay not our adversary. We need to make sure we keep God’s concurring aid. If a sparrow cannot fall without God’s notice, how can our nation rise without His aid?” He further called for regular daily prayer to keep Him close to us.

Thomas Jefferson, upon leaving the office of president, said, “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot not sleep forever.”

We Need Good People in High Places

1774 – Ben Franklin stated, “Introduce into public affairs the principles of Christianity and it will change the face of the world.”

Charles Finnay said, ” The church must take right ground in regard to politics. Politics are part of religion in a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God. He will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics.”

If God’s people do not make it into office God’s principles do not make it into office. That is why Christians must be in office. Our government has been taken over by ungodly men. God-fearing Christians must take it back. We must get involved! Do something where you can affect people’s principles.

Proverbs 18:1 “A man who isolates himself seeks his own desires; he rages against all wise judgment.”

The separation of church and state allows Christians to be a light to the world, but only in the confines of the church. We know that the Lord wants us to be a light unto the government too.

We have lost our heritage. We must get Christianity back into government, our schools, and in our society!

Take a look at the face of EVIL in today’s Islamic world…

Pictured here are Islamic children who are in training in a Taliban school for suicide bombers!

Taliban Buying Children for Use as Homicide Bombers

We don’t make this up: children train as homicide bombers at S. Waziristan camp.

Pakistan’s top Taliban leader, Baitullah Mehsud, is buying children as young as 7 to serve as suicide bombers in the growing spate of attacks against Pakistani, Afghan and U.S. targets, U.S. Defense Department and Pakistani officials say.

A Pakistani official, who spoke on the condition that he not be named because of the sensitive nature of the topic, said the going price for child bombers was $7,000 to $14,000 – huge sums in Pakistan, where per-capita income is about $2,600 a year.

“[Mehsud] has turned suicide bombing into a production output, not unlike [the way] Toyota outputs cars,” a U.S. Defense Department official told reporters recently. He spoke on the condition that he not be named because of ongoing intelligence efforts to catch Mehsud, a prime target for a U.S. and Pakistani anti-Taliban campaign.

An apparent U.S. effort to kill Mehsud last week failed. On Sunday, the Pakistani government offered a reward of about $615,300 for information leading to the capture of Mehsud, dead or alive. The U.S. State Department has offered a bounty of $5 million for Mehsud, who is thought to be hiding in the tribal areas near the Afghan border.

Suicide bombings have become frequent in Pakistan in the past year, including high-profile attacks on hotels frequented by Westerners, as well as on Pakistani police and military installations. There has also been a spate of such attacks directed at U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan.

The U.S. official said the price depends on how quickly the bomber is needed and how close the child is expected to get to the target.

“[Mehsud] produces these suicide bombers, which are sold or bartered, which can be used by [Afghan Taliban leader Mullah] Omar’s Taliban or … other groups,” the U.S. official said.

In some cases, he said, the children are kidnapped and then sold to Mehsud.

Using child suicide bombers “is the grim reality of the Taliban Frankenstein that now threatens to overwhelm the Pakistani state,” said Bruce Riedel, a Brookings Institution scholar who chaired a review of Pakistan-Afghanistan strategy for President Obama.

Efforts to reach a spokesman for Mehsud were not successful.

The use of children in war is not unusual in Afghanistan or the tribal regions of Pakistan. During the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, many pre-adolescent boys became mujahedeen or freedom fighters.

There is a different cultural perspective here about the age at which a boy becomes a man, said Sher, a former Afghan freedom fighter who asked to be identified only by his first name to protect himself against Taliban retribution.

“Fighting is not the issue,” Sher, who took up arms against the Russians at age 13, told The Washington Times by phone.

“What is unusual is making these young fighters into suicide bombers,” he said. “That was not common in Afghanistan, not even in the past. These children are brainwashed to believe things that are not even true. It is a crime against God.”

In other conflicts, such as that between Israel and the Palestinians, suicide bombers are generally older, at least in their late teens or early 20s.

Suicide attacks mounted by Mehsud have killed prominent officials and politicians, including former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, and hundreds of civilians. The attacks have begun to shift sentiment among Pakistanis against the Taliban. The government has mounted an offensive to clear militants from areas close to the capital, Islamabad, although Pakistani authorities have failed to catch local Taliban leaders.

Pakistani officials have said their next target is the rugged region along the Afghan border where al Qaeda and the Taliban fled after U.S.-led forces toppled the Afghan Taliban government in Kabul in 2001.

Last week, Mehsud narrowly escaped a U.S. drone attack that killed approximately 80 people who were attending a funeral in South Waziristan in Pakistan’s tribal region. U.S. officials were watching the funeral by video feed from the drone, which flew high above the scene, concealed by clouds. The drone strike was the closest the U.S. had come to killing Mehsud in the past year, U.S. officials said.

Pakistani officials told The Times that Taliban commander Qari Hussain, who was a close aide to Mehsud, was killed in the attack.

Hussein was one of the main trainers and recruiters of suicide bombers, a Pakistani government official said.

“He was a very important figure to Mehsud,” said the official, who asked to remain anonymous because of the nature of his work. “However, Mehsud escaped the attack. Believe me, there will be no tears for Mehsud in Pakistan when he is killed.”

The Taliban is a formidable enemy to the Pakistani people and government, Mr. Riedel said.

He said the Pakistani government’s current military strategy against Mehsud is promising, but only time will tell whether it will succeed.

A second U.S. Defense Department official with expertise regarding the Taliban told reporters that al Qaeda and other Pakistani militant groups created by the Pakistani government to fight rival India have helped Mehsud stage suicide attacks.

The official, who also asked not to be named because of the nature of his work, said there had been a “convergence” of militants based in the tribal areas “supplemented, financed, probably trained, inculcated, by al Qaeda elements” and also “Punjab-based Pakistani terrorist groups.”

“It’s the relationship between the three elements that is producing effective suicide bombers and sustaining a suicide-bomb campaign inside Pakistan,” the official said.

Apparently, pouring water on someone’s face for a while is a vile and inhuman torture perpetrated by the sadistic US military on poor Muslim terror suspects. But where are the indignant cries of the developed world’s media and humanitarian communities when faced with the disgusting, depraved tactics and practices of those Muslim terrorists such as those described in the story above?

Other than the Washington Times (a courageous publication that does report what really goes on in the world), this story is unlikely to find its way into the mainstream media due to their cowardly self-censorship of anything that might present Islam in a bad light.

Their silent denial, cultural relativism and moral equivalence stinks.

Another American Hero… 88-yr-old veteran from D-Day is honored 66 yrs late!

88-year-old veteran Bob Bearden finally honored for his part in D-Day 66 years late…

Definition of a Hero according to former Sgt. Bearden:

“A combat soldier who is being shot at, who doesn’t run!”

Sergeant Bob Bearden was a squad leader of a mortar squad, H Company, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, which was attached to the 82nd Airborne Division in World War II and made its first combat jump in Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944.

The 507th had a somewhat different experience than the other Allied airborne units in the Normandy invasion. The 507th flew from airbases further north in England than any of the other parachute regiments participating in D-Day. As a result, they arrived over Normandy two hours later than other airborne units, a fact which abolished the element of surprise on which airborne units depend, and gave the well-entrenched Germans ample time to prepare for their arrival.

Massive anti-aircraft fire and dense cloud banks encountered over the Normandy coast caused the 507th to have the worst drop of any of the airborne units participating in Normandy. Most sticks completely missed their drop zones and ended up stranded as individuals or in small groups in totally unknown territory. In addition, their drop zone and surrounding low-lying marshes had been flooded by the Germans, who manipulated locks to make the Merderet River overflow its banks, causing many of the heavily overloaded 507 troopers to drown before they got out of their chutes.

Bob Bearden was luckier than most of his fellow 507 troopers, in that he was able to assemble two of the other members of his mortar squad, and find his H Company Commander, Captain Taylor, shortly after his drop. “Taylor’s group,” however, consisting of about 40 to 50 paratroopers from various units, has never been written about, although they made up one of four important fragmented groups of troopers in the 507 area who had been misdropped, and struggled to rejoin each other, while disrupting the enemy and attempting to overcome severely challenging obstacles in an unknown terrain.

The first action of the group was to take the small town of Fresville, which they held for several hours at the same time the 505 PIR was liberating Ste. Mere Eglise. When the Germans returned in force in Fresville with tanks on the afternoon of D-Day, Taylor and his men had to abandon the town, and sought to recross the flooded Merderet River in the attempt to join their regimental commander, Col. Millett, who had assembled approximately 200 men, but was entirely surrounded by heavily armed Germans.

The story of their struggles and ultimate success in reaching “Millett’s Group” has never been told. Bob Bearden was the first to break into Millett’s area, in a stupendously brave action which left 20 Germans dead in his wake, and paved the way for the rest of Taylor’s group to join their regimental commander. The story of Millett’s surrender is an important piece of the Normandy puzzle, but again, it has never been told in print or on film.

Bearden was a privileged participant in the activities on D+2 in Millett’s group, and the actions they took when ordered by General Gavin to join yet another 507th fragmentary group in “Timme’s orchard” on the other side of La Fière Causeway.  The column of nearly 400 men left Millet’s area on D+3, but fatigue, snipers, the blackness of night, and enemy attack caused the column to fragment.

Colonel Millet, at the head of the column, never made it to Timme’s orchard. He was captured by the Germans with several of his men, but his story has never been published. Bob Bearden was one of the men captured with Millett, who was probably the highest-ranking U.S. paratrooper the Germans captured in Normandy. Millett’s men were out of ammunition and overwhelmingly outnumbered. Bearden was lying just a few feet from his Commander, hidden in a hedgerow, when the order to surrender was given.

Bob Bearden, like the rest of the men with whom he was captured, became a Prisoner of War. He first spent time in a make-shift camp in Alençon, France (Lower Normandy), before being moved into Poland via Stalag XIIA (Limburg, Germany, where POWs were processed and received Red Cross recognition), Stalag IVB (Muhlburg, Germany, a British-run POW camp), and finally Stalag IIIC (Kustrin, Germany (Poland), a camp for American NCOs just on the other side of the Oder River). Bearden remained in IIIC until the Russians “liberated” the camp on their drive to Berlin in late December 1945.

Bob Bearden’s story is both representative and very unique. The 507th, unlike the 505th and the 504th, and most other regiments which participated in D-Day, never had a chance to fight as a regiment. Although they contributed valiantly to the success of the Normandy campaign, and most especially to the epic battle at La Fière Bridge (which S.L.A. Marshall called “probably the bloodiest small arms battle” in World War II), members of the regiment fought piecemeal, or in small mixed groups composed of several different units, often and led by commanders they had never trained with, and did not, in fact, know.  Although just over 2,000 507th troopers dropped on D-Day, only 700 left France when the regiment returned to England a month later, at the end of the Normandy campaign.

Until recently, the 507 was known as the “forgotten regiment.” Much interest in the regiment, however, is not afoot: scholarly works, a regimental history, a documentary, and a number of individual memoirs and other works have recently been released, or are now in the making, as are major permanent museum exhibits dedicated to the regiment’s history and accomplishments. The story of the 507, including the many valiant actions by its individual members, as they fought to rejoin the regiment or battled with other groups, nevertheless remains one of the true “scoops” and untold stories left in the area of World War II airborne history.

How ironic that in the face of such hypocrisy and two-faced betrayal on the part of so many of our elected officials both today and in the past, among those who no longer honor nor value our Constitutional Republic; and have long ago betrayed their country by betraying their oath to preserve, honor and defend our U.S. Constitution; by contrast to such self serving hypocrisy, every now and again we are reminded of what a true hero is.

It most certainly is NOT of those who seek to wallow in and bathe themselves in the spotlight of public attention; but it is those young men and women who are even today in harm’s way, fighting for their country; and some even dying for their country; all of whom fulfill Robert Bearden’s definition of what it means to be a Hero, as someone who doesn’t run in the face of fire!

May God bless them all… and let’s do always remember to hold them up in our prayers.
