Lightning strikes three of the tallest buildings in Chicago at the same time!
“Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth.”
(Job 37:2-2)
It was one of those magical moments
For the third time in the last 6 days, another line of nasty storms rolled through Chicago on Wednesday evening. I love coming home and being able to watch and capture nature’s beauty from my balcony. The footage was shot on a Canon 7D. |
I love the lightening and the thunderstorms that they have back east. Living out here in the west, we don’t get so much of that, especially here in Southern California, where I live… and I kind of miss it.
For me, seeing these pictures bring back all sorts of wonderful nostalgic memories; because as a boy, I spent a lot of time in the Windy City of Chicago!
Even though I was raised in Detroit Michigan, my place of birth was in Chicago, and both of my parents were also from Chicago; and so at least at one time, most of my family was there as well, with cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and my grandparents.
In fact, my grandfather on my mother’s side, worked on the New York Central Railroad, as a steward in the diner car; and so consequently I have many memories as a boy of spending lots of time on the train, traveling back and forth, as well as all the memories of my many summer vacations and holidays that I spent there!
Chicago for me will always have a special place in my heart!
Not that you asked, but I thought I’d tell you anyway!
Have a blessed day,
