Only God has the POWER to turn our nation!!!

Steering huge ships requires power to turn the rudder…

Inertia will work against it, but with enough power it can be done!

The same applies with the power to turn our nation!!!

Below is a devotional message from Our Daily Bread, on the subject of ingratitude, which unfortunately tends to be a common trait among people. Notwithstanding this also applies to We the People of these here fair United States of America!

Surely many today are ungrateful for our many blessings, and for a good many of our population today, having had no Bible training, and never having experienced an encounter with Jesus Christ, they are totally ignorant of the things of God, and they don’t know what they don’t know!

But we in the church, who have been schooled in the Bible; and some even from their childhood, and have been raised in the church, who have had an encounter with Jesus Christ, and are born-again… what’s our excuse?

How is the party of the first part to know about Jesus if the party of the second part is not talking to them, nor praying for them; and are content to keep their treasure to themselves, behind the four walls of their various churches?

Of course they will readily tell you anyone is welcome to come into anyone of these fine churches, and get saved, anytime they choose to; but the point is most will not do that; and so that’s why Jesus set the pattern in scripture that the Gospel message is to be taken to them… where they are, in the market place, and out on the highways and byways of the world.

Also there is another change today, that is not good; and that is whereas the gatekeepers of right and wrong, and the overseers of public good, at least in colonial days, was found in the church; and the preaching that was heard every Sunday served as the beacon to show the people the Way, and to keep them accountable and on track… all that has changed.

Today what was once the purview of the church as society’s gatekeepers is today managed by the talking heads you see on TV, among the secular, anti-God, atheist and agnostic crowd, among the very people the church was sent to minster to.

Now if that isn’t a case of the tail wagging the dog, then I don’t what else is!

Our society is backwards folks, from where we began!

Our country was founding by Christian men and women, who risked their ALL to come here through violent storms and roaring seas; and many died in the effort.

They then dug in at Plymouth Rock, and proceeded to mold and shape a nation and carved out of this new land a home and a government that was founded upon Godly principals, which they learned and gleaned from the Bible.

And just as happened with the Galatians church, we read about in the New Testament, and also as we learn happened with the Children of Israel, in the Old Testament… they started in the Spirit, only to end up in the flesh!

This pattern is common, apparently, to all of mankind, because this pattern is seen all throughout the Bible!

Maybe that’s why our Lord refers to us as His sheep… because sheep are some pretty dumb critters; and sheep need a shepherd or they are liable to follow each other right off a cliff… and folks is that not what’s happening in our country today?

Do we not have a case where the spiritually blind and unregenerate are at the helm of our nation, making the laws and directing the course for our nation’s future, that the rest of us are to follow; while the church for the most part is content to playing church and having little bless me parties on Sundays?

How is that going to change anything, if what is kept in the church doesn’t make it to the streets?

But such as it is, that is exactly the state of our society today… where in the absence of the church’s presence and God’s people in the market place, with us being about our Father’s business, and as a result of the paradigm shift that has occurred here, in these here United States… that job has today been taken over by the Oprah Winfrey style talk shows, and media celebrities, and by Hollywood actors and such… and so is it any wonder our nation is in the mess it is in?

Our nation is as this huge ship, this ocean going tanker that is weighted down, with its cargo holes full to the brim. We have been traveling in this same direction for a very long time, and all the inertia and prevailing currents have long since been established in the present direction… away from God!

With the rudder being so small, and with all the inertia and current flow already pushing us in the wrong direction, we aren’t going to be able to turn this ship around on a dime; and certainly it is going to take the spiritual equivalent of some major hydraulic POWER, from an outside source… a heavenly source, if you are following my analogy, to turn us around!

That’s our cue folks, and those are our battle instructions for today… for us to fall down on our knees, and repent; and ask for God’s mercy and forgiveness on our country!

Now we need to understand this also, that with God’s “Hydraulic Power” being what it is, in the Holy Spirit, it doesn’t take much prayer to move mountains, and this is even true of large tanker ships as well!

For in God’s economy, when we are fighting our battles His way, and are being obedient and are submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit this is what we can expect (

1 believer chases a 1000
2 believers chase 10,000
3 believers chase 100,000
4 believers chase 1000,000
5 believers chase 10,000,000
6 believers chase 100,000,000
7 believers chase 1 billion

Man that is some kind of power we have behind us, and certainly the odds are stacked way in our favor; but only as we are moving under the direction and power of the Holy Spirit… and that is my point!

It does not take a lot of people praying to move this big tanker around, and cause it to turn; but it does take some people praying; and that is our confidence and our hope, as a nation, that as we who are called by His name, will humble ourselves and pray, and as we repent and seek after God’s face; then God’s promise is to hear from heaven, and to heal our land. Selah and Amen

No One Remembered!

READ: Ecclesiastes 9:13-18

He by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that same poor man. —Ecclesiastes 9:15

In a commentary on Ecclesiastes 9:15, Martin Luther cites the story of Themistocles, the soldier and statesman who commanded the Athenian squadron.

Through his strategy, he won the Battle of Salamis, drove the Persian army from Greek soil, and saved his city.

A few years later, he fell out of favor, was ostracized by his countrymen, and was banished from Athens. Thus, Luther concludes, “Themistocles did much good for his city, but received much ingratitude.”

The crowd, for some reason, seems to ignore or quickly forget the good that the poor and humble man accomplishes through his wisdom.

No matter. “Wisdom is [still] better than strength” even if “the poor man’s wisdom is despised” (v.16).

It’s better to be a quiet, honest sage who, though forgotten, leaves much good behind, than a swaggering, strident fool who, though many applaud him, “destroys much good” (v.18).

Accordingly, what matters in the end is not the recognition and gratitude we receive for the work we’ve done, but the souls of those gentle folk in whom we’ve sown the seeds of righteousness.

Put another way: “Wisdom is justified by all her children” (Luke 7:35).

Whom have you influenced through your wise and godly wisdom? —David Roper

Help me to walk so close to Thee
That those who know me best can see
I live as godly as I pray,
And Christ is real from day to day. —Ryberg

God is all about training us for the battle… but He also promises to be with us through the fire!

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace…

but who is that other figure?

“They disobeyed the king’s command and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God.”

(Daniel 3.28b)

God Walks Through Fire With You…
In a land we now call Iraq, an arrogant despot named King Nebuchadnezzar ordered all to bow to a golden image he set up outside the capital city of Babylon. Those who didn’t bow down would be thrown into a red-hot fire pit.Three Jewish refugees for Jerusalem refused to obey. ‘If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up’ (Daniel 3:17-18).

The enraged king ordered the Jews thrown into the furnace. But a strange thing happened. The soldiers who threw the three young men into the furnace were themselves burned to death. The three Jews didn’t even get their hair singed. The crowd gasped, the king was shocked, because in the midst of the fire appeared to be four men, not three, walking around unharmed.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had faith God could deliver them. Scripture contains few more heroic words than, ‘But even if he does not…’ (verse 18). The three refugees confidently proclaim: ‘If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it’ (verse 17).

They knew God does not always make things comfortable for his followers. God may not save us from going into the fiery furnace or heal us or make us prosperous, but the presence of Jesus Christ provides safety in the middle of blazing tribulation. He walks trough fire with us.

Though three Jewish young men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, survived the fire without even the smell of smoke on them, we won’t always feel as if we have escaped.

The greats of Hebrews 11 went to their deaths —- battered and burned, through the fire, to the limit. To them faith was not a cushion to fall back on, but a driving energy. Their eyes were placed firmly on their Saviour, Jesus Christ.

In the The Wounded Healer, Henri Nouwen writes that Jesus Christ is with us, ‘not after all our misery is passed, but in the middle of it, not in another place but right here where we are standing.

What fires are you fighting? Do you wish you knew how your fiery trial will end?

Sometimes we have to walk through the fires of life longer than we want to and wait for God’s time to bring us out. Paul waited to have his affliction removed. Noah waited in the ark. Joseph spent years in prison.

As we persevere through the pressure, trusting God during impossible situations, we don’t have to wait with unmoved resignation or dry-eyed stoicism.

‘As often as not, spiritual giants of the Bible are often contending with God. They prefer to go away limping, like Jacob, rather than shut God out,’ penned Philip Yancey in Disappointment With God.

After pleading with God, through tears and anxiety, we can break through to a new level of confidence. God will supply us with renewed knowledge of him and assurance that he has heard us and is in control of our lives. Allow Christ to replenish you daily with his boundless grace and sustaining strength. Our hope in him will not be disappointed.

If we call on God, he will be there in our times of trouble. God will never let us walk through the fire alone.

Below I’ve included an excellent devotional message from Worthy Ministries, in Israel, on how God prepares His people and trains them for His serivice.

As I read the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and their ordeal in the fiery furnace, what comes to mind is another scripture: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…” (2 Chronicles 16:9)

How often in the course of our lives do we question God, as to why our struggles seem so hard; and sometimes even we may wonder if God is still with us, or whether He still listens to our prayers?

This experience has been termed by some “The dark night of the soul,” and it is a common occurrence to anyone who has enlisted in God’s service.

It even happen to our Master, the Lord Jesus, in His wilderness experience; and the Bible says even of Jesus that “He learned obedience through the things He suffered” (Hebrews 5:8).

As I read and understand my Bible, it is not God’s intention to make us comfortable in this life, as much as it is to train us for His service, and to build us up and strengthen us for the battles we are going to have to fight.

God is more about teaching us how to have SHALOM (peace) in the midst of our battles; and that sort of peace doesn’t happen without having had the experience of walking through the fiery furnace of our life, just as our three Hebrew brethren had to do.

You will note that God didn’t keep them from the fire; but He did walk with them through it; and so is He will be with you and I today, in our trails.

After all, His promise to us is as follows: “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?'” (Heb 13:5-6)

We must understand that we are in a war, and all wars are serious business, and all wars inevitably will have casualties.

Do you remember the story about Gideon, and how God told him to weed out those who didn’t have the inclination or heart for battle?

Judges 7:2-6

2 And the LORD said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

3 Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.'” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.

4 But the LORD said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ the same shall not go.”

5 So he brought the people down to the water. And the LORD said to Gideon, “Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink.” 6 And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water.

One of the things I learn from this and also other examples that are given in the Bible, is that often God is testing us by our circumstances; and most times when God is testing us we won’t even have a clue that is what is happening.

In the above example, let us note how God separated the 300 from the others. It was those who had their minds on the battle, who were chosen; and the ones who were all about themselves and their own lives were eliminated.

That one fact brings me to the admonishment which Jesus gave to His disciples, that also applies to us, when He told them to… “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves;” and also as the Apostle Paul warned us not to be ignorant of the enemy’s devices, his strategy and his battle plans, his mode of operation, as all these things can clearly be learned if we would but study the scriptures.

And finally we are also admonished in scripture to Let this mind be in us, that was also in Christ Jesus our Lord! (Phil 2:5) Selah

You’re chosen for a task!

Hebrews 1:8-9

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

As we continue our study of Mashiach ben Yosef, we observe that both Joseph and Yeshua (Jesus) were chosen or “anointed” for a special task. When Jacob gifted his son Joseph with a coat of many colors, lifting him up above his brothers, he reflected Joseph’s calling by the Lord for a life work as a leader.

The preparation for this role was grueling. Joseph endured the fires of testing, sold into slavery, thrown into prison, and seemingly abandoned by God he must have wondered to himself, “Why is this happening?” It seems clear from hindsight that Joseph was learning the deep humility required for God’s kind of leadership. We also see the humility of the Son of God in His Incarnation and crucifixion. (“My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”) So as Joseph saved the whole world from physical death by starvation, Yeshua saved the whole world from spiritual death, the judgment of sin.

If you have seen signs of your own anointing for a specific task, and find yourself in the midst of painful “unexplainable” trials and tribulations, you’re in good company. God gives responsibility to people of character. Both Joseph and Yeshua are beautiful examples of the kind of leader God loves–a humble one.

Your family in the Lord with much agape love,

The House Church Revival in China…

Did you know that China is now the world’s #1 publisher of Bibles, even though private printing and distribution of bibles and underground house churches remain illegal, and many Chinese Christians and pastors remain jailed for their faith?

The Light on the Silk Road

Jesus tells us that He will return once there is a witness for the gospel in all nations:
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:14

The old Silk Road spans across China and the Middle East

In the first century AD until about 500 AD the spread of Christianity traveled from the Middle East to most areas throughout the Roman Empire. By the time Islam was established in Mecca (sometime after Muhammad’s death in 632 AD), Christianity had already reached the western and northern territories of Europe. During the Middle Ages (approximately 500 AD until about the 15th century), Europe became the center for Christianity. And by the end of the 18th century, Christianity dominated the entire western world, reaching as far as the Americas. It was during this time that Western missionaries began their work as ambassadors for Christ to the un-evangelized continent of Africa and countries to the far-east, such as India and China.

As Christianity continued to grow, Islam had also spread to various areas of the world. Starting from Saudi Arabia, it encroached upon the already Christianized areas of the Middle East, then traveled throughout North Africa, upwards to Russia, east through Central Asia via the Silk Road, and finally into the northwestern region of China.

One such missionary was Dr. Robert Finley, who went to China nearly 60 years ago. At that time, he found there were fewer than one million Chinese who called themselves Christian – and of those, less than half were truly born-again believers. Then, in 1949 the communists took over, and all foreign missionaries were expelled from the country.

But just about the same time as Dr. Finley’s departure from China 60 years ago, and unbeknownst to Finley or any other Western missionary, Chinese indigenous missionaries had already begun a very long walk. Traveling along the Silk Road from eastern China, they walked over 1,000 miles before reaching the western province of Xinjiang (meaning “new frontier”). It was the original homeland of Turks who were driven westward by the Mongolians in the 13th century. This area is populated with the Uyghur people who speak a Turkic language, common along the Silk Road extending as far as modern day Turkey. These dedicated Chinese Christians evangelized with passion, as they risked their lives under communism, spreading the gospel light along this part of the Silk Road.

The harvest is ripe in the marketplace along the Silk Road in Central Asia.

Because of the fervor of indigenous missionaries like these, and
their establishment of
underground “house churches,” Christianity is spreading throughout all Asia and now (60 years later) it is estimated that there are over 100 million Christians in China alone.

For the past ten years Christian Aid has assisted these indigenous missionaries in their outreach to Chinese Muslim Turks in Xingiang. Many Christians believe that in God’s time the gospel light will move back to Jerusalem via the Silk Road.

»Support native missionary work among the underground churches in China.

Christian Aid seeks to establish a witness for our Lord Jesus among unreached people groups by assisting highly effective native missionaries who already know the languages and culture and are getting the job done for less cost.

Below is an invitation given by a friend and sister in the lord, who heads a Messianic group of believers who meet in Laguna Woods, here in Southern California.

What God is doing in the House Church Movement/Revival on Mainland China is nothing short of amazing!

I once heard a man from missionary organization that there were more Christians meeting in the underground House Church Movement in China, than in all the churches in Western Europe and the United States combined… Wow, how awesome is that!!!

Then I heard of this movement where Chinese Christian are planning to take the Gospel to Jerusalem, preaching the Gospel to all they pass along the way, using the same ancient road that was once used by silk traders; and this means they will also be evangelizing in all the Islamic nations they pass along the way as well.

Below is an invite to all of you in Southern California to attend a Messianic Meeting, where some Chinese brothers and sisters from a group called “Melody of My Heart” will be worshiping the Lord singing and praising the God of Israel through Hebrew songs, and Davidic dance.

Subject: Silk Road to Jerusalem: Messianic Club July Meeting

Dear Friends,

A few months ago, I was invited to a unique weekly gathering.  Dozens of Chinese people, mostly speaking Mandarin, were singing and praising the God of Israel through Hebrew songs, with Davidic dance.  They were praising the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and praying for the safety of Israel.  Strange and wonderful, I found out they support the building of bomb shelters in the north of Israel, they are closely aligned with a Messianic Congregation in Haifa, and they participate in an international prayer ministry for Israel.  They are on-fire for Adonai.  And they honor the One who gave them breath by honoring His first born children, the Israelites.

They are a part of a large ground swell of Chinese Christians who support Israel.  Their ministry is called “Melody of My Heart.”  Started twelve years ago by Pastors Francy and Paul Yeh as a Chinese music ministry, it changed radically six years ago, when God grabbed them, took them to Israel and opened their hearts to Messianic worship.  Now, they create music that combines Messianic melodies and harmonies with some Chinese influences.  They blow shofars, teach each other about Jewish customs, discuss the feasts, celebrate Shabbat, pray about current events that affect Israel, and financially support Messianic Israeli ministries.  Now, Melody of My Heart has exploded into an international ministry, with prayer/worship centers in China, US and Israel, incorporating people around the world into their prayers for Israel.

We are honored that some of their representatives will speak at our Messianic Club Meeting on July 6th(Flyer attached.  Remember to bring it with you as your Gate Entrance Ticket if you don’t live in Laguna Woods.)

A number of people have been requesting that I send out the notes each week from our weekly Torah study.  As the notes are very extensive, I have decided, instead, to send out the highlights as often as I can.  Called “Golden Nuggets,” they will be easy to identify.  But if you do not want to receive them, please let me know.  They will be posted as well at

God bless you all always … forever and ever … amen and amen … and especially THIS DAY!  Hope to see you on July 6th at 2:00.

Shalom!  Shalom!

Giving honor and thanks to God our Heavenly Father, on this Father’s Day…

Let us each remember on this Father’s Day, that we each have a Heavenly Father who loves us…

And He longs to be in unending communion with us; for as the Bible tells us, that is why we were created, for His pleasure; and so regardless of what we are going through, let us not lose hope for as we are told in scripture: “He (God) gives His angels charge over you, to guard you in ALL your ways; and on their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:11-12

Below is prophetic word of something which I believe God is saying to us ALL on this Father’s day.

Let us remember that we each are on assignment, and that there is a specific plan and destiny that God has purposed for each of our lives; but one thing we ALL have in common is that God intends for us to be His Ambassadors in the earth, His representatives to the lost world that is all around us!

So next time we are tempted to lose our temper and get upset and angry at the person cutting us off on the freeway, or are having to wait in a long line, remember this, that nothing, no happenstance of our life is by accident.

God has choreographed it all, right down to the last detail, in that He either has allowed our present set of circumstance to happen, as we learn from the Book of Job, or possibly we have allowed it, as we also learn from Job; and that we can know from Job’s own admission, when he said, “What I have always feared has come upon me.”

So we can learn from that admission from Job that sometimes our circumstance are allowed by us, in our not standing in faith on the promises of God’s Word, and the enemy uses that weak link in our armor as a point of entry to come into our lives and wreak havoc in our life, and to get us off of God’s path.

The Bible also says that God chastens those whom He loves, who are of His offspring, in those who are His covenant children, among those who are His sons and daughters.

So whatever the reason we may think, our problems are not to destroy us; but they are to teach us and to make us strong; so that we can know how to live a life of faith and reliance that is founded upon God…. without which we are told (in Heb 11:6) that we cannot even please God.

Just know this, God has NOT forgotten you; or as some would think, neither is He this mean ogre in heaven, who is just waiting to pounce on us when we make a mistake!

Satan would love for us all to have this misconception about our Heavenly Father, but this idea couldn’t be further from the truth.

So on this Father’s day, let us all remember to honor our Heavenly Father, and give thanks to Him for all His faithfulness in being our provider, our healer, and the Lover of our soul.

Let us also learn that we must die to ourselves, in whatever circumstances we face right now, and just be a conduit to those around us; for in that none of us are ever excused from being off the clock, so to speak; for God expects us to be ready in season and out, 24/7, 365 days a year, to encourage, and love, and be God’s hand extended to ALL those He has allowed across our path.

For our life is no longer our own, because we all have been purchased with a price; and have been set aside for God’s service, by the Blood of Jesus Christ; and God expect us to likewise follow Jesus’ example and to lay our lives down each and every day. Selah

So let us all understand these things today, and whether we are a father ourselves, we ALL have a Heavenly Father to give thanks to, and show our appreciation for all of his manifold blessings in our life.

Prayer is having communion with God; and it is an investment of our time that pays major dividends.

Prayer is having communion with God; and it is an investment of our time that pays major dividends…

The fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom;

and knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.” (Proverbs 9:10)

Below is an inspiring message that contains some wise advice, for anyone who wants to succeed in life, and do better than they have in the past.

It is on the subject of prayer.

What most don’t understand is that prayer is an investment of our time that returns major dividends in many different forms.

George Mueller once said of his prayer life that he got more accomplished in four hours of work that was preceded with one hour of prayer then he ever could have accomplished in the five hours of work, without the prayer.

In other words, he found that just that one hour spent with God, preceding his work, that it paid back major dividends in bringing more wisdom, direction, and decrement to Mueller’s efforts.

I suppose it would be like having your favorite iconic hero, say some successful businessman that you really respected, that was of world renown and reputation, what if he were to call you on the phone and tell you that he had taken an interest in your life and your career, and was sending his personal jet to pick you up, and was erasing his entire calendar just to spend time with you, to help you and mentor you that you could have good success in everything you do in your life and in your business? How valuable would that be to you?

Now what do you suppose your response would be?

Truly if this is someone you knew could be of immense help to you, and save you untold time, work, and money just by showing you the ropes and sharing his wisdom and experience with you; and if you knew that any time at all spent with him, having him mentor you like this would just change your life totally for the better, would you even give it a second thought? I think not.

And yet that is exactly the offer God has given to each of us; and yet how many give Him the response they are too busy, or have too many other important things and obligations?

How dumb is that?!!

So before you elect to turn this offer down, just think for a moment about your past, in how much wasted time and efforts you have made; and had poor discernment on people and business deals you have gotten involved with; or had to go back and redo some job or project again, because it was done incorrectly?

How much money do you suppose all that wasted time and effort, and materials cost you?

Do you think that if you had the advice of someone who is all-knowing, and all-powerful, who sees the future and can give you His wisdom, input and discernment, do you think that would be valuable?

Of course it would be; and all of this comes as a part of the deal, and is a part of our inheritance and reward for being in relationship with our Creator, our Heavenly Father, who is also our God… and for being a part of His heavenly family!

His name is Jesus Christ… Don’t leave home without Him!!!

Let us pray often in the Holy Spirit…

1 Corinthians 14:4 says,

“He that speaks [or prays] in an unknown tongue edifies himself…”

Please note that our praying in the spirit (in tongues) edifies us, even though we are not conscious of the prayer’s content.

God Calling

The world has always seen service for Me to be activity.

Only those near to Me have seen that a life apart, of prayer, may, and does so often, accomplish more than all the service man can offer Me.

If man lived apart with Me and only went out to serve at My direct command, My spirit could operate more and accomplish truly mighty things.

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place … his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray. Luke 11:1

Learning about the Matrix of Life… and joining in on the Great Adventure!!!

that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved!

(John 3:16)

Why me Lord?

Because God loves you…

Listen to this testimony of someone I think you will recognize. If you have yet to commit your life to Christ, it’s my prayer that this would be your experience as well:

Do you all remember the movie The Matrix (click link to hear); and how the world that they lived in was not at all what it appeared to be?

Well there is more truth than fiction to that supposition than most realize; and that is true in both the natural realm and also the spiritual.

Even science today will tell you that what you think is solid and physical matter, in reality there is more air and space than there is mass; and that is true in everything you see all around you.

Not only that, but as you go to the most powerful telescopes that we have, and you look out into space; you seen nothing but order and beauty that is just beyond description; and if you go to the most powerful microscope and look inward at the world of molecules and atoms you will find more of the same, only more so, and in spades!

Now the Bible has something to say along these lines as well, and basically it says the same thing, in that it is the unseen world of the Spiritual that is more real than the physical one that we live in, and can see, feel and touch.

In fact the Spiritual world is where the physical world came from… in that all of those little molecules and atoms, electons, neutrons, and protons, and even smaller particles that all are the building blocks of our physical world, they ALL came into existence at the sound of God’s spoken voice!

In fact God is Himself a Spirit, and as Jesus said if you want to commune with Him, you can ONLY do so in Spirit and in Truth!

Understand this, that it is the spiritual world that gave existence to the physical one, and not the other way around; and so if you want to be REAL, then you have to first look to the spirit world, from whence we ALL have come from… and one day we ALL will return!

There are many Christians, who have a form of belief in these things, in a religious sense; but who nevertheless don’t truly grasp the spiritual reality that exists, and only live in the natural and physical dimension.

Sure they have a belief in God, but as the Bible said would be the case in the Last Days, they deny the POWER, and that speaks of the Spiritual… and more specifically they deny the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit; and believe that such things are not for today.

Not only that, but they don’t believe in the Devil either, even though the Bible teaches about him.

These Christians should know better because not only did our Lord teach and speak about Him, there are many other places in the Bible where numerous references are made to his existence; but for whatever reason many Christians do not take any of that seriously.

Such as it is, that is just exactly as the enemy, who is Satan, wants it to be; because those who are of that mindset and opinion are but putty in his hands, and are ripe for deception.

But that being what it is, typically he won’t bother with you as long as you are not a threat to his agenda, and are minding your own business.

In fact if you are proactive in supporting his causes and his agendas, he may even elevate you and prosper you, for a time that is; but that won’t last.

He’ll play along with you just as long as you are being useful to his cause; but make no mistake he is not called the “Father of liars” for nothing… and unless you wake up to that reality before your days on earth are over, you will be in for a very rude surprise!

There are still others, and many Christians also who fall into this camp as well, who although they believe in Satan’s existence; they have nevertheless minimize his influence and have relegated him to some little imp that runs around in a long cape and tights.

Someone once said that life is not a bowl of cherries, and boy is that an understatement!

Certainly life is not a game, and I believe that most people will testify to that fact, owed to all the hassles they are having to contend with, especially in these days and times. And just so you don’t miss my point and think I’m offering you a way out to an easy life, well I’m not!

In fact, let’s get that straight right now, because if you thought your life was hard before you committed your life to Christ, was born-again, and joined God’s team, and God’s family, then let me tell you right now… that you haven’t seen nor experienced anything yet!

Once you become a part of God’s Team, believe me, all hell will be unleashed on you to try and discourage you, and get you to quit; but God will use these hassles, these trials and tribulations to strengthen you and make you strong; to train you and make you fit for His service.

Christianity is not for weaklings, and certainly it is not of the variety you will find practiced in most churches today, with all the religious stuff you will find there.

If you want to know what it truly means to be a follower of Christ, and join the Greatest Adventure of a life time, then you have to turn to your Bible to find out… not to man, nor to man’s denominations, or religion!

Christianity is about denying yourself, meaning your will, your wants, and your ambitious desires, however good and noble you may think they are; and it means laying down your life completely, in order that you may follow Christ!

How do you do that? Again you have to go to the Operations Manual (the Bible) and find out.

I can tell you this, it is much too important a matter to leave to happenstance, and trust what some church denomination or others have told you. God has left us a road map and instructions on how to find our way; but if you don’t read the Manual, how will you know?

After all, this is your life, and you and no one else is responsible for it… and God will hold each of us accountable for how we lived our life, while in this world, and what we did with this matter regarding His Son!

This is not a game folks, and it won’t be easy; but I’m talking to people who want to have their lives challenged to the max; and be tested in every way imaginable; who are willing to cast the total of their life and all their circumstances on the promises of God’s word, and stand there in faith!

This is a life where you are always being tested, trained and condition, for the work God has predestined for your life; it’s a life that is all about endless study and mediation in the Manual (the Bible); and our learning how to listen to, and obey the Holy Spirit.

This is NOT a religion either… as religion is for weaklings… but rather this is about life, as it was meant to be lived!

Are you interested, do you want more information, then check it out for yourself, and come on board.

As an introduction, here is a website that may be helpful (; beyond that you are going to have to start reading your Bible every day; and find yourself a Bible believing church that’s filled with crazy people like me, who love the Lord and are all about doing His business in this earth, which is about winning souls for Christ; and also you need to find a place who believes totally in the operation and manifestations of the Spirit, in all signs, wonders, and miracles, just as you read happened in the Bible.

God has NOT changed, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!!!

So come along and join the adventure… won’t you?

Turning to Jesus in our hour of need!

Turning to Jesus in our hour of need!

God’s Instructions from the Operations Manual (The Bible):

1 Peter 5:5-11

5 In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other.
“God is against the proud,
but he gives grace to the humble.” — Proverbs 3:34

6 Be humble under God’s powerful hand so he will lift you up when the right time comes.

7 Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

8 Control yourselves and be careful! The devil, your enemy, goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to eat.9 Refuse to give in to him, by standing strong in your faith. You know that your Christian family all over the world is having the same kinds of suffering.

10 And after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever.11 All power is his forever and ever. Amen.

Following my message, there is another really good message (below) about the awesome love which God has for each one of us.

I think you all will agree with me that there are certain experiences that are common to all men and women; and it has been my experience that in the process of our pilgrimage through this life, that troubles and tribulations happen to every person, as everyone in some shape or fashion has been adversely affected by this estrangement that has occurred between each one of us, and our Creator.

This estrangement and separation from God happened long ago, in the Garden of Eden, when our original parents Adam and Eve elected to follow another path, and of their own free will and volition, elected to disobeyed God’s command; with the consequence that ever since that time, all those many years ago, mankind has had to live with a curse, and has been floundering on the shores of life, like fish out of water.

You see, the truth is we all are totally unprepared for this life without that connection with God!

The reason is, we are ALL created to have communion with God, and if you want to understand exactly what God’s purpose and plan is for your life, then you have but to look at the life of Jesus Christ, which in Hebrew is translated: Yeshua Ha’Mashiach meaning “Saviour, the Messiah. [Note: the word Messiah means Anointed One; and another name also given in scripture for the Messiah (see Isa 7:14) is “Emanuel,” meaning “God with us!“]

For some people, having never had an introduction nor encounter with their Creator, they struggle by themselves, and often lose hope under the pressure, not having understood that there is a God in heaven, who longs to hear from them, and to touch their lives.

This one thing is true of all of us, and that is we all are the product of our past education and upbringing; and such as it is, whatever that may have been to each one of us, it has molded and shaped the character of the person we are today.

Consequently we each have a foundation upon which we have built our lives, which for each of us is our past experience and upbringing; and how solid our foundation is, while under stress, when we are tested, will depend on the sort of materials that went into building our individual foundation.

For the Believer, it is so important that we center our lives in Jesus and in God’s Word, and that when life’s problems come knocking at our door, as they most certainly will, that we go to our Rock, and that we do what our Life Manual (the Bible) says; with one very important verse to begin with being the one above, 1 Peter 5:7.

For others, of those who would call themselves either atheist or agnostic, their foundation is built upon the shifting sands of whatever belief system they have chosen, and have attached themselves to; and since they don’t believe in any absolutes in life (and have therefore ruled out God and the Bible), their belief system is shaped by the ever changing whims of the culture they live in, and also this “Politically Correct” nonsense, that seems to change with every new generation.

For many of these atheists and agnostics, you will often hear them say that, “God is only a crutch for the weak” as they pride themselves as being self-sufficient, and without need of any outside support.

I’ve even had people tell me, “I’ve got my job, and I make all the money I need… what do I need God for?

Well all I can say is we each will sooner or later come to a place in our life where our self-sufficiency, our talents and abilities; our bank accounts, our jobs and our business are just not enough. And every person eventually comes to a place in their life where they recognize they need a power outside of themselves!

In fact, I have found in my own life that I need that POWER 24/7, 365 days every year!

Listen up folks, this is the reality that we ALL must face, and that many people are even afraid to look at; and that is, every beat of our heart and even the very next breath that we take, all of it is outside of our control; and each beat and each breath is only by God’s grace; and this truth also applies to ALL of us equally… that tomorrow is guaranteed to no man! We each one day will die… and then what?

Then enters the Gospel Message, which is God’s solution to bring ALL of His estranged children home; and this invitation is extended to every individual, regardless of race, color, or ethnicity… and that message is that God is in love with ALL of us!

In fact the Bible tell us in (Psalms 139) that there isn’t a day or moment that goes by, that we are not on God’s mind, and in His heart!

Our problem is, and this is where the road home begins… we must first be born-again!

Here’s the deal, as the Bible teaches: if you are only born once, through natural birth, then you will die twice; but if you are born twice, once through natural birth, and once again spiritually, through a spiritual birth, then you will only die once!

It is because of this disconnect, that we all have from God, because of sin, that God has provided us a door to reinitiate our fellowship and communion with Himself; but that Door is found only in the propitious work and Blood of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Calvary’s cross; whose sacrifice, there, paid our penalty in full, for ALL our trespasses and sins against God, past, present, and future… and folks, there is no other way!!!

The message of the Bible, on this subject, is very clear, for anyone who will take the time to read it, and that is “No one gets into heaven without a Saviour, without them making that Saviour Lord of his or her life; and also this point is most important that you understand, and that is there is only one name under heaven whereby any of us may be saved, and that is ONLY through Jesus Christ!

Subject: What The Lord Is Saying Today

June 17, 2010.  You have no idea how much I love you.  The first covenant was sealed with the blood of animals.  But that covenant has been superseded by a new covenant, a second one, sealed by the blood of Jesus in his death on the cross for the sins of all mankind.

This was the highest price I could pay to redeem you and give you the benefits of the second and eternal covenant that can never be broken by you or Me.

Think about that and know I love you with a love that no man fully knows.  When you received Christ as your personal Savior, you received all my love at that time because you now have Jesus as My word living in you.

Do you see and understand?

Hebrews 10:9-10 (NASB)Then He said, ” BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL.”  He takes away the first in order to establish the second.  By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”  Ras Robinson

Question: What would our founding fathers think of our nation today, in what we have allowed to happen?

Remove not the ancient landmarks which your fathers have established!

Proverbs 22:28

One thing is for sure, based on their writings; their plan and hope for American was far different from the direction we are going today.

America’s Godly Heritage

David Barton

Revised & Condensed by Annette Nay

The Founding Fathers and Christianity

Our founding fathers were brought up in schools in which their primers taught bible scriptures, morals and its teachings. They were taught the Ten Commandments and were thoroughly versed on each one and their meaning.

As adults, the founding fathers continued to read and learn from the bible. Many of them were evangelical preachers. Many of them started the American Tract Society and wrote many of their tracts. They started the American Bible Society, The Philadelphia Bible Society, and the Christian Constitutional Society, all of which still exist today. It was no wonder then that they used the bible to frame the Constitution.

Patrick Henry – “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ!”

From 1690 to 1900 American’s youth learned their ABC’s with a bible scripture associated with each letter. First graders talked about the Ten Commandments, in class, and learned what they meant.

The founding fathers wanted government and Christianity to be in an insoluble bond.

John Quincy Adams stated, “The highest glory of the American Revolution was this… it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.”

John Jay the Chief Justice and the most influential writer of the constitution stated, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers. ” We need to elect Christians to office if we want to have righteous men making good laws to rule our country.

In summation from George Washington’s farewell speech, speaking to the citizens of The United States, he touched on these points: Do not let anyone claim to be a true American if they attempt to remove religion from American politics. If they do they are not true Americans.

Our American government has lasted over 200 years. Having a government, in any form, lasting this long is unheard of. For example, in the last 200 years France has had seven forms of government and Italy has had forty-eight.

Our Constitution and Its Basis

Where did the founding fathers get their ideas for our constitution that has caused it to last so long? Some would have you believe that it was because of the Age of Enlightenment in Britain which brought to light ideas such as:

  • Government should be formed to protect people’s natural rights.
  • Government should have limited power.
  • The type of government should be accepted by all citizens.
  • Government has an obligation to those it governs.
  • Man is born free.
  • Controls by a freely formed government are good.
  • When government is by the consent of the governed the people, they retain their rights.
  • People have the right to challenged old ways of thinking.
  • They questioned divine-right of rule.

They taught that people should be able to gain material well-being, social justice, and happiness in this life – not just the next (Ellis, Esler, Beers, & Hart, 1999).

These ideas spread to American and found place in Thomas Paine’s pamphlet called Common Sense. Some would have you think that it was Paine’s pamphlet which swayed the founding father’s minds to their incorporation in the Constitution (Ellis, Esler, Beers, & Hart, 1999). The fact is that there were many heated debates on the constitutional legislature’s floor over these ideas. Such ideas were not espoused by the founding fathers until they could find a precedence in the bible for them. Then, it was only by unanimously consent spurred on by spiritual confirmation, that they accept these ideas into the constitution (Barton, 1999).

The Bible was important to our founding fathers. Out of fifteen thousand samples of their writings that University of Houston professors collected, they found 3154 of those had a significant impact on our constitution. Of those writings, they found that the bible was quoted sixteen times more than any other source. 94% of the quotes were based on the bible, 34% came directly out of the bible, and 60% used the bible to arrive at their conclusion.

The House and the Senate would discuss what the bible said and use its ideas to make law. The idea of three branches of government originated with John Locke in his article called Two Treaties of Government. The founding fathers substantiated the idea for separation of powers from Jeremiah 17:32. They found mention of the three branches of government in Isaiah 33:22. They found the idea of tax exemption for churches in Ezra 7:24. These men were students of the Bible and brought their expertise into the legislature to help them to know that to do.

Court Rulings that lead to Religion Leaving Government

The Way It Used to Be

1892 – Trinity vs. the US: The Supreme Court stated, “Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It’s impossible that it should be otherwise; and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian.”  This case gave 87 historical precedences to prove this statement. It further stated that there were more, but 78 should suffice to prove the government must be based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

1844 – Vidal vs. Girard’s: “The purest principles of morality are to be taught. Where are they found? Whosoever searches for them must go to the source for which the Christian man derives his faith… the bible.”  A Philadelphia school’s premise was that they could teach morality with out teaching the bible. The court ruled that they couldn’t have a school that didn’t teach the bible’s morality, as it was the source of morality.

1811 – People vs. Ruggles: “Whatever strikes at the root of Christianity tends manifestly to the dissolution of civil government.” In this case a man became profane about Jesus Christ and the bible both written and spoken. The courts said it was blasphemy and the man was fined $500.00 and jailed for 3 months. The court said if you’ve attacked Jesus Christ you have attacked Christianity. If you attack Christianity, you have attacked the foundation of the US. Therefore, it is an attack on the US.

How Amoral Laws Came to Being

The founding fathers never wanted separation of church and state, yet 67% of US citizens today believe that that very idea is contained in the constitution, even though those words never appear in the constitution.

The Constitution of the United States’ first amendment says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Pre-drafts of this statement clarifies the founding fathers constitutional statement. There were twelve variations, they all mirrored the sentiments found in this one, “Congress will pass no laws making one denomination of Christians higher than another denomination.”

Their intent was that they did not want in America what they had in Great Britain where one denomination was running the nation. They wanted God’s principles, but did not want one designated church running the nation.

1796 – Funckle vs Winemiller – The Danbury Baptists who wanted a state church designated. The courts stated: “In our form of government the Christian religion is the established religion and all sects and denominations of Christians are placed upon the same equal footing.”

1802 – Thomas Jefferson addressed those Danbury Baptist. He said that the first amendment has erected a wall between church and state, but that wall is a one directional wall. It keeps the government from running the church and Christian principles will always stay in government. The First National Church never happened and Jefferson’s writing was put away until 1853. Today, we only hear half of this statement, that is: the separation of church and state.

A small number of people petitioned to separate Christian principles from government. Studies were done to see if it could be done. The findings of the House Judiciary committee were announced March 27, 1854. They said that if the people, during the Revolution, or had they any suspicion of any attempt to war against Christianity that revolution would have been strangled in its cradle. At the time of the adoption of the Constitution and the amendments the universal sentiment was that Christianity should be encouraged, not any one sect.

The Founders of the Constitution were Christians and they expected it would be so for their descendents. They stated, “The great vital and conservative element in our system is the belief of our people in the pure doctrine and divine truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

1947 – Everson vs. the Board of Education – Only nineteen words of Jefferson’s speech were used, those being, “The First Amendment has erected a wall between church and state.” That wall must be kept high and impregnable.” It was because these words were taken out of context that the Founding father’s intent was reversed. Jefferson meant, not state from church, but church from state.

Dr. William James –the Father of Modern Psychology influenced the court. He wanted church out of state. Dr. James stated, “There is nothing so absurd but if you repeat it often enough, people will believe it.” The courts began used this tactic through the years.

1958 – Bear vs. Colmore – One of the judges got tired of hearing the statement, “separation of church and state.” He said, “If this court doesn’t stop talking about separation of church and state, someone will think it is part of the constitution.” The court continued to talk about it.

June 25, 1962 – Engle vs. Vitale – This was the first time there was a separation of religious principles from public education. The courts rules that there should not be prayers in school. It was the first time we had a separation of church and state. It was the first time that NO precedence (where previous legal cases were cited) or historical incidents were quoted.

1962-65 – The courts removed church from state through rulings on these cases:

1- Engle vs. Vital – Removal of prayer from school. The prayer before the court only mentioned God once. The Constitution mentions God four times. Does this make it unconstitutional?

2- Murray vs. Curlett – Removal of bible reading in school. Bible study used to be required to graduate from High School.

3- June 17, 1965 –Abington vs. Schempp – Removal of religious instruction from school. The courts stated, “If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, they could be, and have been psychologically harmful to the child.”

In this case the courts said that only 3% of the nation professed no belief in religion or God. That prayer was consistent with 97% of the nation, but the courts ruled for the minority. Now, the philosophy of the 3% rules the 97%.

Our courts used to use biblical guidelines to rule on the areas of the citizens, families, schools, and the nation. Not anymore! Before 1962, the courts said, “We only allow divorce for six reasons. They are the six reasons God allows as written in the bible. God made the family (Adam’s and Noah’s) and so we have to use God’s precepts/rules to govern the family.” After 1965 the courts said we were not to do so any more, because it causes psychological damage to children. George Washington stated, “Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religions principle.”

1965 – Reid vs. Vanhovan – It is unconstitutional for a student to pray aloud in school.

1967 – Decab vs. Dispain – The courts took a four-line nursery rhyme used in pre-kindergarten and ruled it unconstitutional. The courts said, “The rhyme is unconstitutional since it might cause someone to think of God.”

1980 – Stone vs. Graham – The Ten Commandments were posted in a school’s hall bulletin board. The court ruled: “If the posted copies of the Ten commandments are to have any effect at all it will be induce the school children to read, meditate upon them, and perhaps to venerate and obey the commandment; this is not a permissible objective.”

When the courts say something is unconstitutional, what they are saying is that this thing is something our founding fathers would have been opposed to and would not have allowed it! The court’s findings do not reflect this.

James Madison, the Chief Architect of the Constitution, said, “We have stated the whole future of American civilization not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”

Our Country’s Downfall

Since 1963, when prayer was taken out of school, unwed birth rates of 15-19 year-olds doubled. Pregnancies for girls 10-14 went up 553% since prayer was disallowed in school. (The separation of church and state.)

Divorce rates from 1963 to 1983 were up 117%. For fifteen years prior 1963, divorce had been declining.

Since 1963, single families were up 140%, single families with children with children were up 160%, and unmarried couples living together went up 353%.

From 1965, there was a sharp incline of gonorrhea in students in ages 15-19. It incline became since the removal of religious principles from school. Student STD’s went up 228%.

When a people throw away their values, they reap the consequences Some of those consequences are crime, divorce, STD’s, unwed mothers, and unmarried couples living together. There are more!

SAT scores approximate average was 970 points from 1952 to 1963. From 1963 to 1980 scores declined for eighteen consecutive years to drop to a low average of 890 points in 1980.

In 1974-75 the sharp decline in SAT scores slowed with the advent of private religious schools, which allowed religion in the curriculum. During this time, there were 32 thousand U.S. schools, which accounted for 8.5 million students.

Some say that the better scores of these students were because private schools had more money available for a better education for these students. This statement was investigated. It was found that private schools had, on average, $110.00 per student, whereas public schools had $370.52 per student.

SAT scores showed that students from the Christian private schools, on average, got 100 points higher, than the Non-Christian schooled students. That put the Christian schooled students back on the par where students were prior to 1963 and the separation of church and state. It was as if no change had occurred. Whereas public schooled student scores continued to declined!

In 1988 – the number of Academic High Achievers were as follows :

60.8 were from public schools

39.2 were from private schools – This group was 3 times larger than those from the public schools. Remember too, that private religious schools had 1/3 less money per person and used the same curriculum as the public schools, except the private schools added religion.

Violent crimes went up 544% since religious principles were removed from schools in 1963. Thomas Jefferson said that religion is the friend to government because it teaches morals of the heart. This means we are not dealing with murder, instead we deal with the religious morals which say do not hate. When we eliminate hate there is no murder. The commandment to not lust, stops adultery or rape.

Our Citizen’s need Internal Values

John Adams stated that there was no government big enough, to make you do what’s right. If you don’t do what’s right out of your heart, the gun has already been fired; the damage has already been done. He further stated, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is whole inadequate to the government of any other.”

Our people need internal constraints governed by God to keep our constitution working well. The greater number of our people are not and as a result, the constitution is not working!

Our country is now number one in:

  • Violent crime
  • Teen pregnancy
  • Illegal drug use
  • Divorce
  • Abortion
  • Illiteracy (in all the industrial world) – In 1997, seven hundred thousand students graduated from high school, who couldn’t read their diplomas.

Jeremiah 6:16 says to go back to the old paths if you want things to be back the way it should be. Many state constitutions require people, who hold office, to believe in God, the scriptures, and understand them.

Nations are accountable to God. The founding fathers said, “As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be punished in this. By an inevitable chain of cause and effect, providence punishes national sins by national calamities.” When a nation leaves God, God deals with them immediately. Hence, moral decay brings violent crimes, teen pregnancies, divorce, abortions, and etc. When wicked men rule, the nation suffers.

Ben Franklin and the Constitutional Convention stated, “We need God to be our friend not our enemy. We need Him to be our allay not our adversary. We need to make sure we keep God’s concurring aid. If a sparrow cannot fall without God’s notice, how can our nation rise without His aid?” He further called for regular daily prayer to keep Him close to us.

Thomas Jefferson, upon leaving the office of president, said, “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot not sleep forever.”

We Need Good People in High Places

1774 – Ben Franklin stated, “Introduce into public affairs the principles of Christianity and it will change the face of the world.”

Charles Finnay said, ” The church must take right ground in regard to politics. Politics are part of religion in a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God. He will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics.”

If God’s people do not make it into office God’s principles do not make it into office. That is why Christians must be in office. Our government has been taken over by ungodly men. God-fearing Christians must take it back. We must get involved! Do something where you can affect people’s principles.

Proverbs 18:1 “A man who isolates himself seeks his own desires; he rages against all wise judgment.”

The separation of church and state allows Christians to be a light to the world, but only in the confines of the church. We know that the Lord wants us to be a light unto the government too.

We have lost our heritage. We must get Christianity back into government, our schools, and in our society!

JESUS CHRIST… don’t leave home without Him!!!

Though the gift of Salvation comes to each of us without charge, and is a free gift to those who are saved; it nevertheless did not come cheap, God the Father gave us His very best when He gave us His only begotten Son; and God the Son, Jesus, gave His All!

God is not willing that ANY should perish and go out into eternity, without a Savior; but that is our decision to make. God has already paid the price to make it possible, and has reserved a place, and prepared a mansion for each one of his lost children; but the question is, how many will heed the call and will accept God’s invitation?

But make no mistake, what follows is God’s will for ALL mankind!

There are many people today who are religious, having had some sort of church background, and having attended Sunday school as a child, they would be quick to say, if asked… of course I am a Christian.

After all, I was baptized as an infant; I went through conformation class, and received my First Communion; or have fulfilled some such church requirement that varies according to what the label is on the church door.

I know because I was once such a “Christian;” and the reason for the quotes is because I later found out that I was only a nominal Christian, meaning in name only.

Having never truly studied the Bible, I had no idea what it had to say about being a Christian; but I was putting my trust in my church denomination.

I even stopped going to church after my First Communion, because I thought I had fulfilled all the requirements… and boy was I wrong!

Today’s religion cheapens Christianity, and has reduced it to following a certain set of man made rules; and having fulfilled any number of man made requirements; but as we read our Bible we get a much different picture of what Christianity is!

In fact, as we look to scripture, we soon find that Christianity is not a religion at all; but it is a relationship, or marriage, between Christ and each individual in His Church; which by the way, is not the building you meet in on Sundays, or on holidays; and nor is it your particular flavor or denomination either; but to be a Christian means that you are a member and a part of the body of Christ.

I don’t know how many of you reading this saw the Passion of the Christ movie; but I can tell you that as hard as that movie was to watch because of its brutal reality and realism; I can tell you this that what Christ suffered was far worst, and far more brutal!

Now does it make sense that He would go through all of that just so we can attend church on Sundays, and the holidays of our choosing, and think by making an appearance every now and again, that we are a Christian? I think not!

So least we miss out and end up departing this life with this sort of delusion; let us just take a moment to listen and see what Jesus had to say on this subject:

Luke 14:15-35

A Story about a Big Banquet

15 One of those at the table with Jesus heard these things and said to him, “Blessed are the people who will share in the meal in God’s kingdom.”

16 Jesus said to him, “A man gave a big banquet and invited many people. 17 When it was time to eat, the man sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come. Everything is ready.’

18 “But all the guests made excuses.

The first one said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go look at it. Please excuse me.’

19 Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen; I must go and try them. Please excuse me.’

20 A third person said, ‘I just got married; I can’t come.’

21 So the servant returned and told his master what had happened. Then the master became angry and said, ‘Go at once into the streets and alleys of the town, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’

22 Later the servant said to him, ‘Master, I did what you commanded, but we still have room.’

23 The master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes, and urge the people there to come so my house will be full.

24 I tell you, none of those whom I invited first will eat with me.’ ”

The Cost of Being Jesus’ Follower

25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and he turned and said to them:

26If anyone comes to me but loves his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, or sisters—or even life—more than me, he cannot be my follower.

27 Whoever is not willing to carry his cross and follow me cannot be my follower.

28 If you want to build a tower, you first sit down and decide how much it will cost, to see if you have enough money to finish the job.29 If you don’t, you might lay the foundation, but you would not be able to finish. Then all who would see it would make fun of you, 30 saying, ‘This person began to build but was not able to finish.’

31 “If a king is going to fight another king, then first he will sit down and make a plan.

He will decide if he and his ten thousand soldiers can defeat the other king who has twenty thousand soldiers.

32 If he can’t, then while the other king is still far away, he will send some people to speak to him and ask for peace.

3 In the same way, you must give up everything you have to be my follower.”

And here’s another scripture that should give you an idea of what God is looking for:

Matthew 16:24-27

Take Up the Cross and Follow Him

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”

The paradox of Christianity is that even though it is a free gift, in that you cannot earn it, unless of course you happened to have lived an absolute sinless life, and are prefect; and there is only one who was perfect, and that was Jesus Christ; but nevertheless, the paradox is there is a cost involved!

As we just read in the above Parable, about the wedding banquet; the invitations went out; and yet not every one who was invited came.

They had other more important things (in their mind anyway) to do, like live their lives as they want.

Unfortuately there are many people like that who are in for a rude awakening after they die!

Each one of those people, the Bible says, will have to answer for their own sins, and they won’t have a Saviour.

And that’s regardless of how many Sundays they attended church; or how many holidays; or how many religious rituals and requirements that they fulfilled; or how good they think they were… none of these things will even get them in the front door!

Here’s the deal, and here is the situation, according to what the Bible says, that every individual today finds him/or herself in:

Why We Need Salvation?

Romans 3:23:For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

We must recognize that we are ALL sinners and that none of us meet God’s perfect standards.

Sin is serious in God’s sight and includes thoughts, words and actions.

All sin (i.e. hatred and lust) makes us sinners not just the big, obvious sins like murder and adultery (Romans 5:12).

We can’t save ourselves!

Romans 3:10:As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one.”

No one can earn right standing with God. We must understand that our good deeds or religion are unacceptable to God because our good works cannot cancel out our sin. For a view of man’s sinful condition, read Romans 3:10-18.

What is the Penalty for Sin?

Romans 6:23a:For the wages of sin is death.”

God’s holiness demands a penalty (consequence) for our sin, which is death.

Eternal death is separation from God forever in Hell.

God is a just God, and He demands punishment for every sin.

Justice is getting what we deserve, and because of our sin, we each deserve death.

So what is God’s solution to this dilemma?

Romans 5:8:But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sin by dying on the cross.

God is a God of mercy and He sent Jesus to take our sin upon Himself and the punishment we deserve.

Mercy is not getting what we deserve, we deserve death, and Jesus took our place.

God’s Promise of Eternal Life

Romans 6:23:For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Eternal life is a free gift from God, there is nothing we can do to earn eternal life.

Grace is getting what we don’t deserve. Because of God’s amazing grace,

He has given us eternal life through Jesus Christ!

Man’s Responsibility:

Romans 10:9-10:That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

We must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God; who died for us on the cross; rose from the dead, and is Lord.

We must put our trust in Jesus alone to make us right with God.

Salvation involves believing in our hearts (inward belief) and an outward confession that Jesus is Lord.

Romans 10:13:For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

There is no complicated formula to salvation; Jesus paid the price of our sin for us.

Our response is to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

If we do, we will be saved from eternal death in Hell, to eternal life in Heaven.

Since no man knows the day and time of his departure from this earth; and since tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us; it is most important that, if you haven’t made your peace with God, that you do so!

We all are called to prayer… which is unending communion with God!

If we will make the time to pray,

then God will make time to listen!

John 17
Jesus Prays for His Followers

1 After Jesus said these things, he looked toward heaven and prayed, “Father, the time has come. Give glory to your Son so that the Son can give glory to you. 2 You gave the Son power over all people so that the Son could give eternal life to all those you gave him.3 And this is eternal life: that people know you, the only true God, and that they know Jesus Christ, the One you sent.

4 Having finished the work you gave me to do, I brought you glory on earth. 5 And now, Father, give me glory with you; give me the glory I had with you before the world was made.

6 “I showed what you are like to those you gave me from the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your teaching. 7

Now they know that everything you gave me comes from you.8 I gave them the teachings you gave me, and they accepted them. They knew that I truly came from you, and they believed that you sent me.9 I am praying for them.

I am not praying for people in the world but for those you gave me, because they are yours.10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And my glory is shown through them.

11 I am coming to you; I will not stay in the world any longer. But they are still in the world. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they will be one, just as you and I are one.

12 While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me. I protected them, and only one of them, the one worthy of destruction, was lost so that the Scripture would come true.

13 “I am coming to you now. But I pray these things while I am still in the world so that these followers can have all of my joy in them.

14 I have given them your teaching. And the world has hated them, because they don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

15 I am not asking you to take them out of the world but to keep them safe from the Evil One.16 They don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.17

Make them ready for your service through your truth; your teaching is truth.18 I have sent them into the world, just as you sent me into the world. 19 For their sake, I am making myself ready to serve so that they can be ready for their service of the truth.

20 “I pray for these followers, but I am also praying for all those who will believe in me because of their teaching.

21 Father, I pray that they can be one. As you are in me and I am in you, I pray that they can also be one in us. Then the world will believe that you sent me.

22 I have given these people the glory that you gave me so that they can be one, just as you and I are one. 23 I will be in them and you will be in me so that they will be completely one. Then the world will know that you sent me and that you loved them just as much as you loved me.

24 “Father, I want these people that you gave me to be with me where I am. I want them to see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the world was made.

25 Father, you are the One who is good. The world does not know you, but I know you, and these people know you sent me.

26 I showed them what you are like, and I will show them again. Then they will have the same love that you have for me, and I will live in them.”

It seem to me that prayer is not just talking to God, advising him of our needs, and seeking after our provisions and wants.

Jesus in Matthew 6:25-34, makes it very clear that we are NOT TO WORRY, and we are not to be as the pagans and unbelievers are, who consume their lives and are always preoccupied with such things, as what to wear, what to eat, or where we live; but rather Jesus said for us to FIRST seek the Kingdom of Heaven, and His righteousness; and then ALL of these other things, these necessities of life, will be added unto us.

He goes on to say for us to give our entire attention to what God is doing right now, in this present moment, in what is called today; and for us not to get worked up and fret over tomorrow’s problems; about what may or may not happen tomorrow!

Jesus promises that God will help us deal with whatever hard things come up in our future, when the time comes… and for us to just deal with the present, with what we have on our plate today.

So prayer is what we are created for, because prayer is our having communion with our Creator, unending communion, which can happen only as we learn to abide in Him… even as John records in his Gospel, where Jesus said for us to remain attached to the Vine.

As I understand scripture, I learn that we were created for God’s pleasure, and not the other way around, as the world would have you to believe. The world certainly doesn’t revolve around us; but nevertheless, God has given us, who are in sync with Him, a position of dominion in the earth.

Prayer is also not so much us talking to God, as it is more about our being still and listening for God to speak to us.

All too often, especially in today’s hurried and rushed pace environment, where everyone is rushing to get somewhere, only to turn around and start over tomorrow. That is not what life is to be about.

In fact the Bible teaches that God exists outside of time and space, as we know it.

He made both time and space for our benefit; but eternity is not a long time; but it is the absence of time all together, and space too… as we understand it!

Consequently God ONLY exists in the NOW, and is only available for us to have communion with Him in the space of this present moment; and yet all too often our minds are worried and fretting over something we fear will happen tomorrow; or we’re regretting and grieving over something that happened in our past; and if our mind is in any one of those two places, then we are missing God completely… because God can only be accessed in the present moment! Selah

That’s why my favorite scripture is in Psalms 46:10, where we are told to “Be still and know that I AM is God!”

Even in this scripture is the name of God that was given to Moses on Mt. Sinai; which speaks of this very thing.

As Jesus is our example in all things, the Bible says that He ONLY did what He saw the Father do; and He only spoke what He heard the Father speak. In other words, Jesus was always in perfect sync with the Father.

He never took any rabbit trails and went off and did His own thing, as we do all the time, because it is in our nature to do so; and mind you, that predisposition for that behavior, which we ALL have, is exactly what sin is, because it goes crosswise with God’s original plan and purpose for our life.

But as the scripture says, we all like sheep have gone astray, but the Lord has laid on him, Jesus, the inequity of us all!

So prayer is about hanging out and being with Jesus, and learning to listen to and be lead of the Holy Spirit!

Therein ends today’s lesson. 🙂
